Partnership Africa Canada strives to help African and Canadian civil society organizations strengthen their capacity and involvement in research, policy dialogue and advocacy relating to issues of sustainable human development in Africa, and during the last five years it has made a significant contribution to strengthening policy dialogue involving Canadian and African civil society, governments and international organizations.
Through its support for the participation of African civil society organizations in a number of key Africa-related fora - UN-NADAF reviews, TICAD II conferences, ECA, ADB and OAU meetings, NEPAD and G8 related events - PAC has managed to help create space for dialogue between civil society and governments. See the section Civil Society for information on activities related to civil society involvement in research and policy dialogue on Africa's development
PAC is working with a wide range of civil society groups and governments in a groundbreaking programme of research and advocacy related to the exploitation of natural resources and conflict in Africa.
See the section Conflict Diamonds for details of research, policy dialogue and advocacy in the campaign against conflict diamonds.
In Canada, PAC collaborates with many organizations in activities focusing on particular countries or regions of Africa. See Other Publications and Film Festival for further details.
