7 Best Places in Africa for a Joint Trip

October 14, 2018Africa is a huge continent, with many places to see. Majestic mountains, magnificent waterfalls, amazing culture - all of it can be found in Africa. It is not easy to choose a certain limited list of things to see, since we all have responsibilities and limited time for ourselves, but today we tried our best in compiling them into the list of 7 best places for a joint trip with your beloved one or your partner.
    • 1. Cape Town, South Africa
    • Traveling to Cape Town was the most memorable part of my recent journey across Africe. This city is notable for its natural beauty – you can visit charming beaches and the Table Mountain in the center of the city. In Cape Town, you can taste fine wines in high-end restaurants. On the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront can be found the best restaurants and shopping centers you could have ever imagined. Among the main attractions should definitely be noted the following: Robben Island (the place of the 18-year-old imprisonment of Nelson Mandela), beaches, Table Mountain and vineyards.

    • 2. Djenne, Mali
    • Djenne is the oldest city on the southern edge of the Sahara. Founded in 800 AD, the city is located in the Niger Delta, a few miles from Timbuktu. Once Djenne was a transit point for traders transporting goods between Guinea and the Sahara Desert. Now Djenne has become the cultural center of Islam, and the old Great Mosque still stands on the market square.

    • 3. Marrakech, Morocco
    • The city of Marrakech stands beneath the Atlas Mountains. It is a big, noisy, but very beautiful city, and there are many interesting things in it. Look out of the window of the riad (a hotel in an old house) in Medina: this part of the city is simply mesmerizing! Be sure to inhale the fresh air of the Majorelle Gardens, and then go to the Jemaa el Fna Square - the heart of the Medina.

    • 4. Zanzibar, Tanzania
    • The Zanzibar Archipelago is a very popular tourist route, and the popularity of it was provided by the incredible beauty of the beaches and a wonderful historical past. It belongs to Tanzania and has kept its traditions for many years. Zanzibar was famous for its spices, and it was also the center of the Arab slave trade. The influence of Arab culture is noticeable in Zanzibar, especially in Stone Town, the old part of Zanzibar, where the Sultan's palace and many mosques are located.

    • 5. Victoria Falls, Zambia, Zimbabwe
    • This waterfall lies between these two countries in South Africa. The width of the waterfall is more than 1,800 meters, and its height is about 120 meters. This place is amazing, it feels like you are under a shower, especially during the rainy season, when more than 5 million liters of water plunge into the Zambezi River. Splashes of water rise up to 300 meters, and the noise of the waterfall is heard at a distance of 50 kilometers.

    • 6. Omo Valley, Ethiopia
    • The best place for cultural enrichment and rafting on holidays is the Omo Valley. You can get there only by car, but the trip is worth it. Traditions and beliefs of more than fifty local tribes have been preserved in their original form, and it is better to get acquainted with this culture with a guide.

    • 7. Masai Mara, Kenya
    • If you want to see something really amazing, go to the Masai Mara Reserve. From July to October it is dry in Kenya dry, so the variety of flora and fauna is amazing. In addition, nowhere else in the world will you be able to admire the migration of wildebeest from a balloon.
