    The AIDS situation in Africa has become catastrophic. There is an urgent need for a broader, intensified response from all actors at all levels. In order to mobilize vastly more resources for this purpose, African countries, together with the seven UNAIDS cosponsors and secretariat, bilateral development agencies, NGOs, and the private sector are building the International Partnership against AIDS in Africa.
